Varicose veins
How are enlarged veins formed?
Successful treatment of varicose veins requires a detailed clinical examination of the patient, which includes not only an overview of the leg veins but also complete vascular (arterial and venous) status. Furthermore, care must be taken and of any other health problems that the patient has. For example, a patient who in addition to varicose veins and has arterial insufficiency leg requires a different algorithm treatment from persons who have the proper arterial circulation in the legs.
Taking a detailed history and clinical examination is the first step on the road to adequate treatment. A further step is a detailed ultrasound (Color Doppler) which visualizes changes in the venous system and the underlying cause of varicose veins. Only after such exam treatment plan can be made.

Treatment of varicose veins
Treatment of varicose veins as well as any treatment requires an individual approach. Today there are more methods which are very specific and require extensive medical knowledge which results in suggesting appropriate treatment.
For each method, knowledge about the advantages and disadvantages, and the whole procedure is needed. People often compare their situation with that of the other person , but every one of us is an individual person so therefore everyone requires indivudual treatment.
Therefore, in our clinic we offer all currently available methods, and patient’s condition directs the method.
All procedures in our facility are done by vascular surgeon, which is a specialist who deals exclusively with diseases and surgery on the blood vessels.
Our Services

Laser vein surgery
A new and widely accepted method for eliminating damaged veins is based on the complete closure of the vein by applying laser radiation to the inner wall of the vein.

Sclerotherapy foam (UGFS)
The sclerosing solution is injected into the vein. The procedure is performed under ultrasound.

Ultrasound (Color Doppler) of veins and arteries
Ultrasound examination of veins and arteries is a fast and reliable method of imaging tissues and organs. Color Doppler is an option in the ultrasound examination that measures the flow through the blood vessels, the speed and direction of the flow through the blood vessels.

Removal of capillaries
Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels, located at the border of the arterial and venous systems. They are primarily an aesthetic problem, but the appearance of capillaries is the mildest stage of venous leg disease, so before removing the capillaries, we definitely recommend a Color Doppler ultrasound of the leg veins in order to determine the actual state of the venous system.
